WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING – Roger’s Ramblings

My heart goes out to all of the people affected by the horrific flooding events across Queensland and northern New South Wales. It’s painful and gut wrenching to think of how many livestock have been tragically lost. I know it will take a long time for some of you to recover from this. I just wish you all the best.

Earlier this year I flew to the US for a round of meetings and presentations with our partners in the RavahTech group. We based ourselves in a very large and comfortable AirBNB in Lubbock Texas for a week and held our meetings and presentations at the Texas Tech University’s Innovation Hub at Research Park. It was a very fruitful week and a pleasure to meet up with the US based members (and Pierre, the CEO from South Africa) of the Ravah team face to face and to spend some quality time with them all. It was also very good to meet with a number of Texas farmers and to hear their stories and experiences. Big things happen in Texas!

As you will read below, there’s plenty going on here at agCommander HQ. It’s exciting times as we build more and more integrations with more and more partners. Integrations are the biggest upside of cloud based systems.

RavahTech will soon be launching a new website and it will describe and explain what we are planning to do in the area of helping companies with their requirement to offset their carbon footprint in order to reach net zero. There have been many hours of hard work, meetings, collaborations, etc. going into our developments to address these needs. As soon as I am able to provide you with more detail on what we are planning to do in this space, I will let you know. Stay tuned.

I’d like to thank those of you who have sent in testimonials recently. They are greatly appreciated, very encouraging and we’ve already published some on our website!

I hope you enjoy the rest of the newsletter and that the year turns out to be a good one for you.

NEW PRODUCTS

We have some good news for Ranchers, Pastoralists and Graziers.

Due to several requests from clients and some enquiries, we are pleased to announce that we have released a dedicated Livestock, Mapping and Weather Records application called “AGC-Livestock” for Ranchers, Pastoralists & Graziers.

Our livestock systems have a long history. Initially built in 1989 for the University of Western Australia’s 8 farm stocking rate experiment, then built on through the years with the help of the Australian Agricultural Co (AACo), Stanbrokes, Pāmu Farms NZ, Hassad, Dunkeld Pastoral and many other excellent livestock operators.

AGC-Livestock comes in two levels, AGC-Livestock Gold and AGC-Livestock Platinum. Platinum includes our comprehensive Asset Manager module, Satellite Imagery, livestock budgeting, a comprehensive wool records system and more.

Both Gold & Platinum come with Herd or Mob records. Our Individual Animal Records module can be added if required with optional CERES TAG integration if required.

To see what the differences are between these two systems, check out this web page.

If you or someone you know are interested to know more, please contact us (sales@agcommander.com)

CERES TAG INTEGRATION

A significant enhancement to agCommander in recent months is the integration with CERES TAG. We and the CERES TAG team are very excited about this integration. In the words of CERES TAG CEO David Smith…

“Bringing on new Software Partners like agCommander offers more farmers across the world more access to CERES TAG and the critical data insights into that our devices offer into their animals and the livestock and agriculture industry. The technology that drives us and software partners like agCommander gives our customers insights into feed efficiency, methane emissions, animal movement and behaviour, and the powerful mapping systems and record keeping abilities of agCommander allows CERES TAG to continue with our mission of Connecting People with Animals. I can’t wait to continue building on this relationship with the team at agCommander.”

Please contact us (sales@agcommander.com) for more information on using CERES TAGs and how we make use of the data generated by these tags in agCommander.

WHAT’S COMING

Incitec Pivot Integration

We will soon start the development work on an interface with Incitec Pivot to automate the delivery of their laboratory test results into agCommander. That development will begin very soon.

Agronomic Insights & Precision Farming Integration

We have been working on a major integration project with a satellite imagery provider for the past 5 months. The end result of this project will add some powerful agronomy tools and crop health insights into agCommander. It’s too early to give you the full story on this. The software platform that we are integrating with are about to launch their own constellation of high resolution satellites which will improve the product immensely. That will go “live” later this year.  Stay tuned. We will provide you with all the details on this exciting development closer to release.

Pack House Integration for Fresh Produce

We will be drawing up the plans for another integration very soon that will have great appeal to our many market gardener clients. Again, it’s too early to give you the full story on this. Stay tuned. We will provide you with all the details on this exciting development closer to release also.

Microsoft Dynamics Integration

Another major enhancement that might appeal to agCommander Enterprise clients is our integration with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central. This project started in May 2024 and is soon to go live with one of our Enterprise clients based in South Australia. Our client is in the final stages of testing the system end to end before they go live with it across their nine business units.
